Can you believe it’s already been a year since we have been working from home? Time is passing by like anything. While there’s no denying the fact that the pandemic lead to many changes in our lives, not all the changes were bad, there were some good ones too. Our beauty routines benefited the most during the lockdown aka the WFH phase. Granting that we had plenty of time to give extra care and attention to our skin, this period worked favorably for our skin.
Considering we wore minimal to zero makeup during this period and exposed our skin to fewer external factors, our skin felt better and started to behave. Increased emphasis on body care and skin care definitely did us all some good. Our skin has never felt this good before, and the credit goes to a couple of beauty products and tools that became an indispensable part of our beauty routines and helped us get through the WFH phase.
Massaging tools
Massaging the face with the help of some facial tools became a huge thing during the pandemic. Be it a rose quartz roller or gua sha, these facial tools were everywhere the previous year and still are. Skincare enthusiasts welcomed these amazing tools with open arms, and that had a lot to do with the fact that these facial tools have so many incredible benefits to offer to your skin. Apart from boosting the blood circulation and making the skin appear glowy, massaging tools also helped to relax the facial muscles, remove the puffiness, and minimize the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
Sunscreen
Did you know the blue light emitted from your gadgets is as harmful to your skin as the sun is? While some women were already aware of this thing, the majority of us got to discover it during the pandemic when there was a major increase in screen time as everyone was working from home. The blue light emitted from these gadgets can accelerate the aging process, causing your skin to age much faster than anticipated. This realization compelled the women to wear sunscreen even when they were working from home.
Nourishing hand creams
Applying a nourishing hand cream every time after washing the hands is a habit that most of us developed during the pandemic. Considering sanitizers and hand washes tend to be extremely drying in nature, they used to leave the skin on the hands overly dry, and that’s where nourishing hand creams came into the picture. These nourishing hand creams served as an excellent way to keep the hands soft, smooth, and hydrated all day long. This also gave rise to 2-in-1 hand creams that not only offered hydration to the skin but also helped to kill the germs and bacteria present on the skin.
Hair dyes
Since salons were shut during the lockdown, we had no other option but to take the matter into our own hands and act accordingly. While some girls embraced their natural hair color, some of them went in for hair color and colored their hair at home. There was increased demand for hair color products in different shades, and we did watch a couple of videos on YouTube and stories on Insta where everyone was coloring their own hair.
Skincare took the center stage
Considering we barely got to wear makeup during the pandemic, skincare took the center stage and everyone started to care for their skin like never before. People actually started to take their skincare routine seriously and followed a basic yet necessary three to four-step routine.
