1. DON’T EVER PICK ON YOUR PIMPLES
The worst thing you could to your skin is to pick on your pimples. It not only leaves acne scars but also spreads to other parts of the face, resulting in more acne break out and inflammation. So it’s always best to keep your fingers and hands at bay from your face and leave that popping pimple just the way it is. As it will eventually heal on its own and dry off leaving a very light scarring as compared to those popped ones.
2. ALWAYS TAKE YOUR MAKE UP OFF
Makeup is considered to be a safe haven for all the bacteria to grow in. so it’s always advisable to take your make up off before hitting the bed. No matter what brand of makeup you have used, you just can’t take the risk of pimple forming on your skin the very next day. You can easily wipe it off with your make up remover or make up wipes.
3. WASH YOUR FACE TWICE A DAY
You should always wash your face twice a day, once in the morning and once in the evening. With all the dirt, dust particles and many other elements, our skin gets subjected to throughout the day. They tend to settle on the pores of the skin, which eventually result in clogged and oily pores. And they are one of the reasons for acne break out.
So washing your face twice a day helps you to get rid of all the excess dirt and excess oil. But with that don’t overdo it, as extreme dryness can also result in breakouts too.
After every washing remember to moisturize your face with an oil-free moisturizer to hydrate your skin.
4. AVOID SKINCARE PRODUCTS WITH OIL IN IT
Excess oil on the skin is also one of the major reasons for acne breakout as they can clog your pores. So it’s always advisable for people with acne-prone skin to avoid investing in skincare products that contain oil. As it will only further increase the oil production and will result in acne break out.
5. DRINK PLENTY OF WATER
This may sound very cliché to you, but this technique is actually believed to be quite effective on the skin. Dehydration is known to be one of the causes of oil secretion, which in turn results in acne break out and also promotes inflammation and redness.
So keep yourself well hydrated and drink at least 8 ounces of water every day.
6. WEAR SUNSCREEN
Sun exposure can be really harmful to skin, as some of you may already know. Those harsh UV rays can do some serious damage to your skin besides overproduction of oil, inflammation, and redness like dark spots, hyper-pigmentation, etc. and it also prevents a deadly disease called skin cancer.
