The term ‘new year, new me’ may sound too cliche to some, but in reality, it’s actually true to some extent. Life is too short to be boring; sometimes, you just have to go with the flow and let things guide you through the way. Similarly, when it comes to fashion, you just cannot keep sticking to the older trends or even the trends that are no longer in existence, not that there’s anything bad about it, but it’s the new vibe that comes along with the change. We are not telling you to completely transform your whole wardrobe; you should at least let go of the bad parts and instead adapt yourself to new and refreshing fashion choices by swapping some of your older pieces with new and trendier versions. We have made a list of some of the fashion trends that once were quite a biggie but have now started to fade away, and we believe that they will no longer be seen in the year 2020. Hence, this article!
Cold shoulder
There was a time when all the girls went gaga over this detailed shoulder piece, and the trend never stopped fading away until this year. Yes, this is true! Cold-shoulder pieces are no longer in trend anymore. Well, they sure did look incredibly stylish and effortlessly stunning, but the trend has worn out so much that whenever you will step out of your house wearing this piece, it’s going to look basic. Although, this piece would still look amazing and all, the thing is you will not be able to make a fashion statement with such pieces. Instead, you can go for some nice floral tops to wear this summer.
Neon colors
Neon colors sure do look all funky and eye-catching, but they are no longer in trend anymore. While they were a little tricky and difficult to style, but they were still loved by so many people. Unfortunately, they couldn’t withstand the test of time and soon started to fade away. You can swap these bright and funky pieces with more neutral pieces that look more 2020 and goes perfectly with the summery vibe. The neutral color palette, including beige, tan, and creams, is the best option for you to try this year.
Stacked jewelry
Accessories are a great way to elevate the look of your outfit and make it look more stylish and presentable. Stacking jewelry pieces was one of the many trends that gained popularity in such a short span of time, but it is officially over now. They surely looked amazing and worked quite effectively for many looks, but they are now being replaced with single jewelry pieces that are chunkier on the side.
Padded shoulders
Padded shoulders are one of those fashion trends that nobody really loved or cared about. They never looked amazing in the 80s, and they don’t look good even now. We are glad that we are finally getting rid of this trend and will no longer be seeing such pieces that never really complimented women’s silhouette. On the contrary, fitted shoulders are making a comeback this year, and we couldn’t be happier.
Boiler suits
Boiler suits made an appearance for a short time and went out of the trend very quickly. We couldn’t really figure out the purpose of this particular clothing trend and miserably failed to create an impact with its weirdly looking silhouette. All in all, we are happy to see this trend go away, which never really should have made an appearance in the first place. In replacement to this piece, you can look for more neat and polished suits that will look flattering and stylish.
