However, there is a way that can help you get rid of all kinds of dirt, impurities, or any unwanted residue from your face and help you achieve healthy, glowing, and beautiful skin instead. Getting regular facials or cleanups might be your only chance to get your skin back to normal and while you may not have a lot of time to go the salons and get it done by the professionals but that simply doesn’t mean you can’t do it yourself at home. With the right ingredients available at your home, you can easily do a face clean up on your own.
We assure you, if all the steps mentioned below are followed in the correct order then there’s nothing that can stop you from achieving salon-like results.
Cleanse
Cleansing is the first and the foremost step of this entire process and merely using a face wash to cleanse your face simply won’t cut it. All the dirt, impurities, and other environmental stressors can penetrate deep into the layer of your skin and face wash won’t be effective enough to get rid of them. Remove all the surface dirt from your face using micellar water or cleansing milk, follow it up by cleansing your face with a face wash and you will be good to go.
Exfoliate
Exfoliation is one of the most crucial steps in the entire process. You cannot go wrong here. Dead skin cells present on the surface of our skin makes it appear very dull and uneven. Exfoliation is the key to getting rid of dead skin cells and make your skin appear brighter and even. You shouldn’t exfoliate your face more than twice a week or else it can leave a few cuts or abrasions on your skin and sometimes can also cause redness and irritation.
Steam
A lot of women who perform face clean up at home tend to skip this step. And we would like to let you know that this step is not to be missed by any chance. Face steam helps to open up your pores which make it easier for your skin to absorb all the goodness of the products you will be using in the next steps. It will also help you to extract blackheads with ease, that are otherwise very stubborn to get rid of.
Mask
Face masks tend to work better on clean skin and now that your skin is properly cleansed, you can go ahead with the face mask. Apply the face mask to your entire face and neck, let it sink deeper into your skin, and wait for it to get dry. Face mask not only absorbs excess oil but it also closes the pores of your skin. After waiting for at least 15-20 minutes, you can take the mask off with cold water.
Tone
Even though the face mask will help you to close the pores of your skin, you cannot take the chances. To be extra safer on the side, tone your face using an alcohol-free toner and it will help you to close the pores further whilst also maintaining the ph level of your skin. This will also make your face feel refreshed and hydrated. After applying the toner, wait for a few minutes to ensure that it has completed seeped into the skin. Just make sure that you don’t skip this crucial clean-up step.
Moisturize
The last and one of the most important steps of this face clean up is moisturizing. All the goodness and moisture your skin has accumulated shouldn’t be gone to a waste, lock them up with a good moisturizer. Applying a moisturizer won’t only make your skin glow but will also keep it well hydrated. Depending on your skin type, you can pick a moisturizer that will prove to be beneficial and effective for your skin. For dry skin, a heavy moisturizer or thick lotion is an ideal choice, whereas, for oily or combination skin, a gel or water-based moisturizer will work well.
