Given the kind of year we all have had, we cannot wait for things to get back to normal and lead our lives the way we used to lead before. Since we all stayed inside our homes for the most part of the year, wearing little to no makeup or relying on DIY beauty treatments became the new normal. 2020 had a huge impact on all our lives, it influenced our lifestyles and made us learn and realize several things. Putting pretty much everything on halt, this pandemic lead to the shutting down of salons, and that was a huge setback for girls that used to rely on salons for all the beauty-related stuff such as manicure, pedicure, hair spas, facials, etc. And as far as the makeup is concerned, no-makeup makeup or minimal makeup was all the rage this year.
2020 was full of ups and downs, some of us made it through this year, and some sadly couldn’t, but life shall continue, and we are looking forward to what’s to come next. Much like fashion trends, you can expect to see a new wave of beauty trends that 2021 has in store for you. Listed below are some of the beauty trends that are expected to be huge in 2021.
Getting ‘zoom face’ corrected
Since pretty much everything was shut down, including offices, the majority of people began working from home, and that lead to virtual meetings, which zoom made so much easier for all of us. These zoom calls also lead to some realizations that aren’t exactly a big deal but for some, it might be. Let’s be honest here, we spend most of our time checking out our own face whenever we are on a zoom call, the more we look at our face, the more we start finding flaws, and that can make any person feel uncomfortable about their appearance, and that’s what happening at the moment. There is an increased demand for several cosmetic treatments at the moment, and the demand for these treatments is only expected to increase in the coming months.
The mullet hairstyle is back
If you consider yourself a classic at heart and like experimenting with retro fashion, then there’s a reason for you to rejoice as the classic mullet hairstyle is back in the game. This trend was spotted earlier this year, but it didn’t manage to gain heat due to the pandemic. However, this trend is expected to make yet another comeback in 2021. With little tweaks like different colors, extensions, and lengths, a modern update has been given to this classic hairstyle.
Healthy skin
2020 didn’t really give us many opportunities to step out of the house, let alone doing makeup. Since we spent most of our time sans makeup, it made us realize the importance of healthy skin. In addition to following a good skincare routine religiously, skincare enthusiasts are preferring skincare treatments and supplements in order to make their skin appear naturally glowing and healthy. We are certain that this trend will follow us to 2021.
DIY beauty treatments
While shutting down of salons was a slight setback for so many of us, we didn’t let it come in the way of our beauty treatments. Since going to salons wasn’t an option, people started relying on DIY beauty treatments such as home-made scrubs and face masks. From chopping our own hair to doing our own hair spa, we pretty much did everything we could in the lockdown. These DIY at-home treatments are only expected to gain even more popularity in the coming months.
Multi-purpose products
While there’s no harm in following an elaborate skincare routine, most women are choosing to do it otherwise, which means using multi-tasking skincare products. Instead of relying on separate products for different concerns, more and more women are settling for skincare products that can deal with more than one skin concern, which will not only save their time but money as well.
